Town Clerk Phil Leable, Supervisor Jan Suthard, and Lake County Clerk Willard Hellander assist voter during Early Voting.
If you are a Benton Township resident you many register to vote at the township office during normal business hours. You many also pick up enrollment form for permanent voting by mail.
You must bring with you 2 forms of identification with a current picture ID which can be a drivers license, passport, or state ID.
Early Voting and Absentee Voting is conducted at the Township. Early Voting simply allows the voter to vote at their convenience. Absentee voting requires a reason for being out of town on election day.
Benton Township was the first township in the State of Illinois to have Early Voting.
2012 ELECTION DATES:
Register by: February 21st (grace period at the County Clerk's office Feb. 22 to Mar. 13th
Voting by Mail: February 9 to March 15
Early Voting: February 27 to March 15
General Primary: March 20
Voter Registration reopens: March 22
General Election: November 6
